CJ Brafford - Director of the Ute Museum and a member of the Lakota Oglala Sioux Indian tribe

The Redstone Historical Society sponsors a Ute Indian presentation by CJ Brafford, Director of the Ute Museum in Montrose.

CJ Brafford comes from the Lakota Oglala Sioux Indian tribe and is making huge steps in the Colorado history field.  She was one of the participants in the Native Nations Procession, which led up to the opening ceremony of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC, 2004.

In 2018, Brafford received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service.  In 2022, she has been honored with the Colorado Women’s Day “Spirit” Award for her work and dedication in preserving Colorado’s Native American traditions and culture.

Her presentation includes music, artifacts, and a slideshow.
The presentation will be held under the white tent at the Redstone Inn. All welcome.

Free for Redstone Historical Society Members & Children
$10 donation for the public.
